The snotty rocker, the Artful Dodger of world music, the posho foodie and Dave pull together for the first time since 2002.
Blur are to perform live again with their full line-up of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree in 2009, it has been revealed. The band will play gigs together for the first time since Coxon quit the band in 2002. In a joint interview with the NME, both Coxon and Albarn revealed how they've patched up their differences. "It just felt it was right again," announced Albarn of the reunion. "It somehow feels like there's something for us to do again, we're not completely useless or pointless, we've got a reason to exist." Coxon was in full agreement, revealing that they were "making public what's been going on a little bit privately. For the benefit of the fans and those interested we can say that something's on the cards". The band have revealed that they will be playing a headlining show at London's Hyde Park on July 3rd. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday (December 12th) at 9am (GMT). Rumours are abound that the band are also set to headline Glastonbury in 2009. The band refused to confirm or deny the story but did promise fans across the UK that more shows will be announced. "We'll do something in London because that seems sensible," Albarn promised, "but we're also playing in other parts of the country working up to there." (0) comments - discuss in the forum |
