Jack Bruce of Cream has lauched not one but two attacks on Led Zeppelin. Bruce, who reunited Cream alongide Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker for a series of gigs in 2005, fired a blistering volley at Zeppelin whilst speaking to Classic Rock at their awards ceremony.

A clearly rankled Bruce let rip by saying:"Everybody talks about Led Zeppelin [reforming], and they played one fucking gig – one fucking lame gig – while Cream did weeks of gigs [during their 2005 reunion]; proper gigs, not just a lame gig like Zeppelin did, with all the [vocal] keys lowered and everything. We played everything in the original keys.

"Fuck off, Zeppelin, you're crap. You've always been crap and you'll never be anything else. The worst thing is that people believe the crap that they're sold. Cream is 10 times the band that Led Zeppelin is."

Bruce then went onto to describe Zeppelin's guitarist, Jimmy Page, as being, you guessed it, "crap".

Unapologetic about his onslaught, Bruce continued the theme in a recent interview with Detroit radio station WCSX. He initially explained his comments at the awards show (above) as being a joke, before then explaining: "It's jealousy on my part, because Cream created Zep's audience."

Before adding: "Let's face it, Jimmy Page ain't no Eric Clapton, no matter what anyone thinks. I mean, the one good guy in that band is dead."
