Electric Picnic have revealed that Franz Ferdinand, Sex Pistols and Sigur Ros will all be playing their 2008 festival. The event takes place at Stradbally Hall in County Laois, Ireland between August 29-31, and will also take in performances by My Bloody Valentine, The Gossip, The Breeders and CSS. And for those moments when the music gets a little too much, The International Comedy Club and The Body And Soul Village will both be reappearing at the festival. That is actually a pretty great lineup! Not as good as End of the Road mind, but still impressive.

Indeed. They've struck the right balance between genuinely big names, and the up-and-coming, and genuinely exciting stuff that you get at ATP.
