September 1st will see Friendly Fires' eponymous debut getting its release on XL Recordings.
The St Albans trio already count Colin Murray and Rob Da Bank (oh, and, erm, Zane Lowe) as fans, and of the album they say: “This 37 minutes of music is the end product of two years’ inspiration, frustration, toil and passion. We set out to merge heartfelt, romantic songwriting with our love of the dancefloor and blissful shoegaze guitars.” The band met at school and make "understated lo-fi pop music", although they started out with a Fugazi-inspired sound ("we took everything a little too seriously back then," they say). The tracklisting for the album is: Jump In The Pool In The Hospital Paris White Diamonds Strobe On Board Lovesick Skeleton Boy Photobooth Ex Lover The band will tour the UK this autumn and play various summer festivals too.
