Gorillaz go Bananaz with new documentary
Written by Mark Thompson
GorillazIt seems you can't keep a good cartoon character down, or even kill them off. And just like Wile E. Coyote, no matter if Albarn and Hewlett's animated popsters run off a cliff, they'll bounce back with something new.

Gorillaz are set to release a feature-length documentary about themselves entitled Bananaz. The cartoon band, which draws on the musical ability of Damon Albarn and the pencil skills of Jamie Hewlett, will be put through their paces by director Ceri Levy.

Although a few screenings of the film are expected, it's thought that it will be primarily aimed at the DVD market. No release date for Bananaz has yet been set, but the as the film is still in production, it's thought that it won't see the light of day until 2008 at the earliest.

In other pop primate news, the band have just released a second two-disc batch of remixes, rarities and B-sides on the compilation D-Sides.
