So claims the Queens of the Stone Age frontman, and it is no secret that the Monkeys are big fans of Homme's gang.
Not only has Josh Homme stated that he will be producing the Sheffield pups' next album, but that the recording will take place at the Joshua Tree studios, the Rancho De La Luna, just outside LA. “We’re gonna do some tracks and I’m really looking forward to it, cos I like them a lot,” Homme told 6 Music radio station over the weekend. “Being Arctic Monkeys, the polar opposite would be Desert Monkeys, so they’re gonna come out and just experience that, and their idea is to submerge themselves in something else and do some tracks. The heavier sound on the Arctic's last album, Favourite Worst Nightmare, was placed upon the band's collective love of QOTSA. Alex Turner and Josh Homme became pals after playing a Stateside show last year. “They’re a talented bunch of guys," enthused Homme. "It's gonna be a lot of fun.” (0) comments - discuss in the forum |
