| Lily vs the US: singer denied entry, spats with Courtney Love |

Oh, that Lily Allen. Fiesty sort. First she's having a pop at Courtney Love via MySpace, then she's claiming it was someone else and now her US visa has been cancelled.
Ms Allen spent five hours in a cell before being sent home after customs and immigration officers at Los Angeles International Airport strip-searched and quizzed her, apparently about her arrest in London in March after an alleged clash with a photographer. Then her US visa was cancelled. She was on her way to Las Vegas for an awards ceremony and said: "I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don't like letting my fans down. It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on authorities granting me a new work visa. I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September. I don't like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort." Lily has also managed to wind up Courtney Love with these words on her MySpace site: "I am not bfs (best friends) w/ (with) C (Courtney) Love, one night with her made me realise why Kurt (Cobain killed himself." Apparently, the page was hacked into (yeah, right), but Love was sceptical and responded in kind on her own MySpace page: "Thanks to Lily Allen for her lovely apologising for having had her MySpace broken into. "I wouldn't pick on me if I was Miss Lily, as it wouldn't take TOO much to swat, but we've known each other far too long, like each other far too much and if she was gonna say something nasty she has the acerbic wit and intelligence to say something cutting, that would actually really hurt, not some cliched hoary old chestnut some obsessed blogger would say. "She tells me her MySpace was broken into - even if I REALLY think she did blog it mindlessly some 8am after being up far too long for a young healthy woman I don't care and I appreciate and accept her thoughtfulness for apologising for what was printed, if she is telling the truth and it really doesn't much matter - everyone slams everyone early in their careers, (Sonic Youth)'s Kim Gordon still slams me, I mean how much more boring can you get? (than Kim Gordon - slam!) Does anyone care?" Ladies, please! (0) comments - discuss in the forum |
