Some kind of monster? Some kind of cheapskate, more like. Metal juggernaut Metallica have announced details of the a London show that will only cost fans five pounds. A boon for you headbangers hit by the credit crunch.
The show will be a fanclub-only affair taking place at London's O2 Arena on September 15th. Tickets for the show cost £5 with all the money raised going to charity. The only way for fans to obtain tickets is to register for free through the band's website www.missionmetallica.com. A similarly cheap ticket show in Berlin will also take place on September 12th, the same day that the band's new album, Death Magnetic, is released. A press statement revealed the reasoning behind the budget ticket prices: "Because this is a celebration, tickets prices will be, shall we say, 'retro?' Only ten Euros for Berlin, five pounds in London! And the best part is that all the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to local charities." The only other confirmed Metallica shows in the UK take place at this weekend's Reading and Leeds Festivals. (0) comments - discuss in the forum |
