NME Awards USA: 2008 Winners

Vampire WeekendThe inaugural Stateside NME Awards took place last night (April 23rd), and with guests including Mark Ronson, Agyness Deyn, Sienna Miller and Kelly Osbourne it at least helped define a new idiom: mutton dressed as shit.

Hosted by actor Jim Jefferies, the ceremony took place at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Har Mar Superstar was on hand to kick-off proceedings with a performance of Tall Boy, before the award winners were announced.

The Godlike and Inspiration accolades smack of only being awarded to artists who were in the vicinity of the ceremony venue and could bothered to turn up.
