Nationwide Mercury Prize 2008 shortlist announced |

Robert Plant, Elbow and Radiohead are amongst the nominees for this year's Nationwide Mercury Prize.
The nominees for this year - which has seen more entries than ever before - were announced in London this morning. The albums on the shortlist are: Adele - 19 British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music? Burial - Untrue Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid Estelle - Shine The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement Laura Marling - Alas I Cannot Swim Neon Neon - Stainless Style Portico Quartet - Knee-Deep In The North Sea Robert Plant And Alison Krauss – Raising Sand Radiohead - In Rainbows Rachel Unthank And The Winterset – The Bairns The winner of the Prize will be announced live on BBC Two on 9th September and there will be a second show broadcast on Friday 12th September.
