Noel Gallagher takes a pop at Radiohead
Written by Mark Thompson
Noel GallagherIt's all been the same since Kid A, apparently. Er Noel, the pot's on the phone for you. Something 'bout your kettle not being bright enough.

Noel Gallagher has tried to right some wrongs in the critical pecking order, by outlining his own hierachy and taking Radiohead down a peg or two. The outburst came during an interview on Croation radio station Plavi.

"The biggest criticism that the music press have against us [Oasis] is that we're not Radiohead," Gallagher said.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, they've been making the same record since Kid A, have they not?"

However, Noel did commend the band for their live performances.

"I like them. Every time I see them live they blow me away, but you know, it's kind of [like] we make very accessible rock and roll music and they constantly make difficult electronic records."

The Oasis lead-man also revealed that band's songwriting process is much more organic.

"It's not a conscious thing where we're like, 'right, we must write something avant-garde here'. If it happens naturally then we'll do it. If it doesn't then we won't. We do like sitting around strumming acoustic guitars."

A natural avant-garde Oasis song. In fact ANY avant-garde Oasis song. I've checked the 2009 calendar, there's a few Sundays, but not a month full of 'em.
