Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has revealed that Noel Gallagher's route to quitting drugs inspired him to stop using cocaine.

"It was literally something that happened one morning, a couple of years ago," Ulrich announced to The Quietus. "I was 'Enough of this, I don't need it.'"

He went on to add: "I was very impressed with Noel Gallagher. I'm an Oasis fanatic and, in '98, Noel had gone 'You know what? No more cocaine!' I thought if he could do it, everybody else could."
