Portishead go solo project crazy
Written by Mark Thompson
PortisheadWith their most recent album, Third, having been nine years in the making it comes as no surprise that the band are sick of the sight of each other. It's a good job they've got other things on the go to keep themselves occupied then. Geoff Barrow, for one, has formed his own hip-hop collective with an album to follow.

All three members of Portishead are busily working away on solo projects at present.

In an interview with Xfm, mainman Geoff Barrow enlightened listeners with what himself and his bandmates are currently upto.

According to Barrow, Adrian Utley "has got his own project", whilst Beth Gibbons has been finishing off work on a film soundtrack to a currently untitled movie.

As for Barrow himself, he's exploring his hip-hop roots on a new album under the name Quakers. "It's a load of mates online chucking stuff at stuff," Barrow explained to the radio station. "I wanted to make a hip hop album before I'm 40."
