Primal Scream and My Bloody Valentine reunite

There must be a rockers' version of RELATE. To get one bloody-minded singer and one bloody lazy guitarist back together must require enormous pluck and powers of persuasion. Or just a phone call and enough patience to wait for Kevin Shields to get his fat arse off the sofa and answer it.

Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie and My Bloody Valentine and former Scream guitarist Kevin Shields have formed a trio with ex-Jesus & Mary Chain bassist Douglas Hart.

The mini-collective will play a single one-off gig, advertised under the name Crawling Kingsnakes, as the curtain raiser to the launch of Jarvis Cocker's Meltdown season. The show will take place at 1pm at London QEH Front Room on August 16.

The show also features Project Komakino, XX Teens, Le Volume Courbe, The Dodoz and a DJ set by Cocker.
