The Flaming Lips are to adopt a back-to-basics tact on their next album. Wayne Coyne has the recipe for its success: potatoes and swearing.
The Flaming Lips have begun work on the follow-up to their 2006 album At War With The Mystics. The band have commenced work alongside regular producer Dave Fridmann. In a bid to shatter expectations Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne has said that the album will feature some of the group's most simple songs. Speaking to Q magazine, Coyne revealed the thinking behind this more basic mindset. "Everyone expects us to pile 6,000 things on top," Coyne explained. "But some of these are simple, like Plastic Ono-era Lennon. It's like a baked potato - you get a potato, some butter and, fuck it, you're good to go." (0) comments - discuss in the forum |
