Twisted Ear
Wilco and Bon Iver for Green Man Festival
Written by Mark Thompson
WilcoTickets are on sale, the first names on the line-up have been announced, and if that doesn't tickle your pleasure zones then how about it being the only UK festival to have 24-hour drink licences?

The Green Man festival has revealed the first bands for this year's event. Lining up within the Brecon Beacons in 2009 will be Wilco, Bon Iver, Wooden Shjips, British Sea Power, Errors, Peggy Sue, Megson, Pivot, It’s A Buffalo, She Keeps Bees, Golden Animals, 6 Day Riot, No Thee No Ess, Sound Carriers and Martin Carr.

Following the Domino night at the festival in 2008, this year welcomes record label  Bella Union to curate and showcase their burgeoning roster, including Beach House and Peter Broderick, over a night.

Another highlight revealed will be electronic psych-rockers Amorphous Androgynous (aka Future Sound Of London) taking you on a Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind for 7 hours of life changing experiences. Sounds worryingly impressive.

The 2009 festival promises over a hundred acts spread across five stages, plus a DJ batallion to while away those midnight hours with psychedlia, dub-reggae, modern electro and stoner rock.

That's not all, aside from the music there is the promise of yet more with art installations, literature and film tents, Welsh poetry, art and music, ceilidhs, poetry, theatre, science, comedy, Nature and Nurture massage area, a daily dusk till dawn bonfire, impromptu jamming sessions, and the wonderful food stalls offering a wide range of mouth watering cuisine most of which is locally sourced and organic.

The festival takes place over 21st-23rd August at Glanusk Park near Crickhowell, Brecon Beacons, Wales. Tickets are now available from here.
